  • Welcome to Our Art Gallery

Our paternal grandfather, Theodore Nathans came to America from what is now or was Lithuania as a young man. He settled in Paterson, NJ and married my grandmother, originally from Baltimore, Berthe Siegal. He bought a glass and mirror shop and the property on West Broadway in Paterson, that my dad, Jerome, aka Jerry, took over after Teddy passed.

Picture framing was added to the business and eventually artwork. I remember going to the Village Art Show every Spring walking blocks and blocks of artists’ ‘booths’. Most of the works here are local and from the 70’s. Most are original prints, lithographs, drawings, etc.

My mom, Rita Kitzis Nathans would add an art gallery to the mix when the shop was relocated to West Paterson in 1979 due to some urban renewal project in Paterson.

Over the years, hundreds of pieces have been amassed and now sit in boxes in my basement in Brooklyn, NY. The images here continue the story. Some of the pieces are framed, most are not. Some of the pieces may be worse for wear so to speak and are listed as such when known or noticed. All are inexpensive as they would be better on your walls than in boxes in my basement, and framing may be costly. Some are known artist and I have done my best to identify signatures and artist.
